YUMI Lashes is a European beauty brand. In 2008, they launched the YUMI Lash Lift, a keratin lash enhancing treatment.
The Yumi Lash Lift was first introduced in the USA in 2015. As the service became increasingly popular, especially among celebrities, certified training and product approval finally reached Canada in January 2017.

YUMI Lashes Lash Lift is a cosmetic treatment that enhances natural lashes without adding fake eyelashes.
During an eyelash lift service, the lashes are lifted (curled) and darkened with an eyelash tint. The end result is perfectly curled and darkened lashes that look fuller and longer.
The results can last up to 8-12 weeks - depending on your natural lash cycle.
How Do I Prepare For A Lash Lift?
Remove all eye makeup
That includes mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow, foundation and concealer.
Makeup residue can mess with how the YUMI Lashes products work. So it’s super important to take off all makeup before your appointment. If you wear waterproof mascara or eyeliner, make sure you clean along your lash line!
If your skin is extra sensitive, it’s better to avoid wearing makeup at least 24 hours before your appointment.
Shower and wash your hair before your appointment
You need to keep your eyelashes completely dry for the first 24 hours. Any contact with moisture can make your lashes uncurl.
Also make sure to schedule activities such as swimming, hot yoga and sweaty workouts accordingly.
Removecontact lenses
Wearing contact lenses during your appointment can dry out or irritate your eyes.
If you can, wear glasses to your appointment instead.
Avoid caffeinated drinks such as coffee and tea
Caffeine can cause your eyes to flutter and twitch, and prevent you from relaxing during your treatment.
Try your best to avoid caffeinated foods and drinks at least 3 hours before your appointment.
If you forgot or absolutely need to have caffeine, be sure to visit the washroom right before your service begins!
What To Expect During A Lash Lift
Consultation
At Sunday Beauty Boutique, all services begin with a consultation. This way I can customize your service according to your lash type and lash health.
During this time, we will discuss your expectations, what we can achieve and also answer any of your questions.
Lash Lift Procedure
It's time to relax!
You’ll be lying down on a comfortable spa bed with your eyes closed for 1.5 - 2 hours. Clients usually take this time to nap, catch up on podcasts or listen to music.
Blankets and extra pillows are also available to maximize your comfort.

BEFORE - YUMI Lash Lift
Your eyelashes and eye area will be gently cleansed to make sure that they are completely free of any oils and makeup residue.
To protect your lower lashes and eye area, a pair of eye masks will be applied. This eye mask also has brightening and moisturizing properties. At this point your eyes will be closed until the treatment is over.

Next, silicone forms will be fitted onto your upper lids. These forms come in three sizes: small, medium and large. Depending on your desired look, the correct size will be chosen during your consultation.
At this time, your lashes will be ‘sculpted’ to the shape of the silicone form.
This step usually takes the longest since your lashes will keep this shape for 8-12 weeks after the treatment.

After your lashes are set into place, the YUMI Lashes Lift solution is applied to your lashes, focusing on the roots.
Traditional lash perms are applied to the entire lash which can dry out, weaken or even damage lashes.

Once the Lift solution has processed and been removed, the Fix solution will be applied and removed after it has finished processing.

Your lashes are now perfectly lifted, but we’re not done yet. To give them an extra boost, we will darken your lashes with a tint. Tinting can also help lashes look longer and thicker.

Lower lash tinting is optional, although I will typically do it for blonder or light brown lashes.
Once the lash tinting is completed, the silicone forms are removed with the help of the YUMI Lashes Nourish oil. Your lashes will also be gently cleansed to ensure that all products are removed.
Finally your lashes will be brushed and the YUMI Nourishing protein mascara is applied before the grand reveal of your lashes!

AFTER - YUMI Lash Lift
Freshly lifted lashes will look spiky like you're wearing mascara. When you wash them (after 24 hours) they will become light and fluffy.
How To Take Care Of A Lash Lift
Simple. Keep your lashes completely dry and avoid touching them for at least 24 hours. This will make sure that your newly lifted and tinted lashes will keep their shape and colour.
That means avoid swimming, hot yoga, washing your hair - basically anything that can wet your lashes. This is very important because wetting your lashes at this point will cause them to uncurl.
After the first 24 hours, give your lashes a good wash. This will get rid of any residues left over from the lash lift service.
Pat dry with a towel and use a mascara wand (provided with your service) to brush out your lashes. You’ll notice that your lashes are now nice and fluffy.
At this point, your lashes are set. You can go back to your normal routines and wear eye makeup - yes, that includes mascara and eyeliner!

How long does a lash lift last?
It’s different for everyone but usually up to 8-12 weeks.
Lifted lashes don’t uncurl. Instead, they fall off at the end of their cycle, and a new one grows in.
On average, an eyelash’s life cycle is about 100 days. This varies from person to person and can also be affected by the season.
How much does a lash lift cost?

No, certified technicians are trained to lift your lashes without causing damage. That’s why it’s important to do your research before booking a lash lift appointment.

What's the difference between a lash lift and eyelash extensions?
The main difference is that no fake eyelashes are added during a lash lift.
During an eyelash extensions service, synthetic or mink lashes are glued onto your natural lashes.

Will eyelash tint do anything for my black lashes?
Yes!
Even with dark lashes you’ll notice that they are bolder and shinier with the tint.
Eyelash tint can also help lashes appear longer. How? The tint adds colour to the very tips of the lashes - the part that is usually so fine that it’s very hard to see.
Can you still wear mascara with a lash lift?
Definitely! However, keep in mind that you have to wait at least 24 hours after your treatment. After that, you can wear mascara, eyeliner and any other types of eye makeup.

Can I get a lash lift if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
The hormones produced during pregnancy and breastfeeding can affect your lash lift service in several ways:
- You may develop sensitivities that you didn’t have before.
- Lashes won’t lift as much as they would normally.
At the moment, Sunday Beauty Boutique cannot issue refunds for lash lift clients who have been consulted and educated on these concerns and decide to proceed with the service.
Can I get a lash lift if I have sensitive eyes?
Sensitivities and allergic reactions to YUMI Lashes products are rare.
However, if you have specific allergies or very sensitive eyes, do mention them during your consultation.
If you have sensitive skin or eyes, here are some ways to help reduce irritation:
- Don’t wear eye makeup at least 24 hours before your appointment.
- Avoid scrubbing your face or using exfoliates a few days before your appointment.
- Don’t wear contact lenses to your appointment. Wear your glasses instead.
- If you have seasonal allergies, take an antihistamine beforehand.
Can I get a lash lift if I have an eye infection?
Do not get an eyelash lift if you have any type of eye infection. Reschedule your appointment if needed.
If you’ve had eye surgery, check with your doctor to see when it's safe for you to get a lash lift.For most procedures, you'll have to wait at least 6 months.
For any other conditions, please consult with your physician first before scheduling an appointment.
